We all started out as 6 friends working out together in early 2007. We would all tote around some of the equipment we had, and meet up in parks or garages to train. Some of us drove around with kettlebells and homemade medicine balls, while others filled the back of their trucks with barbells, bumper plates, and tires. Our love for CrossFit grew and so did the number of friends that worked out with us. CrossFit Utah Valley was born by the fall of 2007 and became the fourth affiliate in Utah and the first in Utah County.
The colder weather of fall forced us inside and we found our first home in a corner of the Petersen Medical warehouse. We spent a year there, until we moved into our own space of 3000 square feet in November of 2008. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of people that were following our website, anticipating our move and showed up to our grand opening. We spent a little over 2 years there, but our continued growth soon had us searching for a larger space. One of our goals at CFUV is to offer a facility and location that is ideal for our type of training. With this in mind, we moved into our new, 7700 square foot, location in April 2011. We have grown from a handful of people, to a community of over 100 amazing CrossFitters who call CFUV their home.
We feel that getting kids to be active and playing is necessary to keeping the kids of today healthy. With this in mind, we started a CrossFit Kids program at CFUV. Something unique about our facility is it allows us to run CrossFit Kids classes simultaneously with adult classes. This way kids and parents can train at the same time, while getting a workout that is tailored to their needs; making us your one stop family fitness shop.
CrossFit Utah Valley is fully equipped to train 20+ people per class, however, we continually adapt to our clients needs by adding classes where there is sufficient demand. Our largest classes have assistant trainers so that we are able to maintain a low member-to-trainer ratio, providing quality training to everyone in the class. We want our members to experience exceptional training, feel the rush of working out with a group, and most importantly be safe and perform the movements correctly.
